Our shopping trip :D

Hello Athena!

Well so this afternoon, Gunny and I made a quick trip down to city to get us some retro pants to complete that retarded to we wore for the morning announcemet ><

We’re no regulars in the fashion scene, but that didnt stop us from buying some nice high-waisted jeans off an (rather edgy) uncle in peninsular shopping centre down in city hall.

The place is B1-03 and looks like any other papa-mama clothing joint crowding up the aisles. The only difference being the uncle agreed to give YOU a discount (haggle please. We can’t guarantee it-.-) if you show him the referral documents below upon purchase of in-store wares.

and please quote our (i.e. The two indecisive guys who bought funny high-waisted pants and made off without a discount) words. That’ll prolly put a chuckle or two on his face and take a dollar or two off your high-waisted pants ><

It’s never too late to dress up for the occasion. Don’t let the retro fever get to you before you get your slice of the retro pie, cause you won’t wanna look back in anger 🙂

Saturday afternoon is as good a time as any, so please help up get the discount (and the revenge) on Anzim’s.

Besides, there’s hippie pants and other sights to see in that area.

That’s it for now, but before we go….

Ciao, and see you tomorrow! 😀

Hello Athena! 😀

Hope you’re getting excited about fac outing because it’s going to be a blast (into the past)! If you haven’t found a super cool retro outfit yet, fret not! We’ve scouted some areas so here’s what we’ve found!

For the girls

There are quite a number of retro and cute vintage shops at BUGIS STREET! Take a look around level 2 and 3 of the bugis street marketplace and you’ll find lots of retro stuff at affordable prices. If you’re looking for cool retro pieces you can check out shops like…(we don’t remember the names of the shops but here are some indicators!)

    1. Up the escalator to level 2; it’s the shop beside the shoe shop. It’s stocked with vintage dresses and tops, and it has a really cool vintage feel! All items are one of a kind, so you don’t have to be afraid of seeing someone in the same outfit at fac outing! Even if you’re not buying anything from there, you definitely should take a tour around the shop to soak in the whole authentic vintage atmosphere. Prices about $25 per piece.
    2. Opposite the corridor from shop #1 (described above) and one or two stalls to the left (at the end of the second row of shops). It has a fair amount of retro dresses and some pretty bags and shoes too. AND it’s totally affordable! Prices average at about $15.
    3. Among other vintage shops there’s tangerine tofu (shop number: csl/d7, also on level 2). It has some lively retro outfits hidden among their pretty vintage collection. Prices about $40.
    4. Many other shops on level 2 selling pretty cool retro dresses and shoes! Go explore.
    5. On level 3, you can find a lot of new shops selling retro stuff! Too many to name, so go see for yourself. (:
    6. Looking for accessories? You can head to the first level of bugis street, where there are hair accessories like hairbands, hats, clips etc. And if you’re searching for sunglasses / non-tinted frames, go to the middle of the street (where there are tons of wallets on sale) and walk down the corridor to find a shop selling sunglasses at 2 for $12.00 (1 for $6.90).

For the guys

The guys style of retro has a lot of room for creativity! We’re not really sure where to look for such outfits but you can try checking out some shops in bugis street too, where there are jackets and suspenders, bling, hats and maybe some afros. Have fun mismatching your clothes 😀 Apologies that this is comparatively short.

Well… hope to see you all in your spunky retrolicious clothes on Saturday! 😀 There’ll be a BEST DRESSED COMPETITION, and our pub ICs will be going round that night snapping photos of 3 nominees for girls and guys each. The winner for each category can stand to win attractive prizes!! 😀 So don’t be shy; just come in your full-fledged RETROLICIOUS attire!

And… here’s a video to prepare you for facouting!! O: O:

Do check it out it’s pretty fun(ny).
Hope to see you there~ 😀
