“DEARRRRRRRRRR J1s

How about an insight into our daily conversation topic… and what sparked off this email! Have fun deciding who’s who:

A: Shit I love our J1s so much!!!! How??

B: I don’t know leh! I can’t even concentrate on my studies or girlfriend cause I keep thinking about them!!!

A: I’d serenade to them but I think they’d just run away.):

B: how about a love letter!

Apologies for the cheesy start, here goes (:

With orientation having come to a conclusion, we have so much to tell you guys. So here’s a sincere and honest email, expressing to you and opening up about how we your fac heads have felt through this orientation experience.

You would know too, the apprehension and excitement that occurs when you check out your og list or your ct list, eager to know who else was in. Similarly, we felt the same anxiety, waiting to discover what the new batch of Athenians were like – how you would respond to us, to each other, to the faculty. We had our worries, we had our fears.

Now we know just how uncalled for they were. These were dispelled from day one. We saw the enthusiasm and radiance in your cheering; we definitely saw the vigor and zest you had in you showcased aggressively and violently during war games; and we were impressed by the effort and standard of your class flags and performances. Just watching you made us feel so proud, and so happy, and truly amazed and what you were capable of.

So…maybe we didn’t win the hello pandas that were wrapped up in the boxes awarded to the other faculties for their class flag, their class performance, for war games. But you – with all your spirit and enthusiasm and effort, have won over our hearts. We are sad that the judges didn’t choose us, but only because we believe this faculty deserves so much more recognition than what was granted. When we saw the SPIRIT in your cheers, we know we have already achieved what we set out for.

J1 athenians, we have a question for you.

what do you feel for this faculty?

do you love your class and enjoy the time and moments spent with them?

do you cheer your hearts out in support for the faculty because you simply can’t keep it in?

are you proud of Athena?

because one things for sure, we are crazily proud of you. And these are the things that make us true champions. These are the things that are important and essential. Not the hello pandas, but your heart, your beliefs, your pride, your spirit.

The Athenian Spirit – this green spirit is in us all. As in was in your seniors, it now is in you. The love for the faculty and the support given to each and every member of our faculty builds the spirit. Winning isn’t about the tangible prize; sure that feels good but winning, more importantly is feeling like victors. And that’s what we want each of you to feel. It is a state of mind – the sense of pride, the sense of joy and victory when you see representatives of our faculty on stage; when the faculty comes together to create a masterpiece.

There’s another masterpiece we’re going to create during Post-Orientation-Party. We don’t care if you have the skills and talent to dance – whether you can or cannot dance (it doesn’t matter (: ), YOU DANCE. We promise you are going to enjoy it. Dance because you’re part of this faculty, dance because together we’re going to shake as if there’s an earthquake vibrating the floor, shout out the cheers louder than loud goes, and we’re going to have a time of our lives dancing hard and as one Athena on the 12th. In that 3 mins we’ll let our spirit effortlessly shine through us so much so that people don’t even need to be watching to know that its us ATHENIANS creating an awesome scene in the central plaza.

We’ll fight hard for this faculty because Athenians, you’re well worth fighting for.

And hey, don’t forget to smile, rejoice, celebrate, cheer, cause the grass is greener, on whose side?

OURS.

We love Athena, don’t you?

From the depths of our hearts,

Wenshan and Huiying

And just so you know, we’re here for you. Enjoy your first week in school (:”
